
Sami Hakamaki
I am a 30-year-old chef based in Tampere, and cooking is my greatest passion. I love preparing food in all its forms, from simple dishes to elaborate dining experiences.
For the past 13 years, I have worked in the food industry, gaining experience in top restaurants across Finland and around the world. My special expertise lies in modern Finnish cuisine, but I have also enriched my skills through participation in various cooking competitions.
As a chef, taste always comes first—food should not only look beautiful but also be truly delicious. I particularly value craftsmanship in cooking. To me, traditional craftsmanship represents skill, dedication, and respect for the culinary arts, and it is something worth preserving.
I also hold a deep appreciation for Finland’s nature. Its ingredients are, in my view, the finest in the world, and its landscapes are worth pausing for. Nature is a constant source of inspiration and is strongly reflected in the food I create.
